3 of 5 Mind Development – Ripples in Your Life

In our life regardless of our life styles we all have things that are ripples, waves and tsunamis. Looking through the framework of cause and affect the ripples, waves and tsunamis have different levels of affect. Let’s say for the purpose of discussion that a guy name Chris wanted 3 foot waves to improve his surfing ability that is his ideal. Others might want only ripples to play on the sea side with their small children others might want 15 foot waves to practice their big wave riding and tow-inn’s. Each scenario has its place, for now let’s focus on Chris’ ideal.

How did Chris find out what his perfect ideal is? If I asked you what is your perfect ideal what would your answer be? Did you say to yourself “I don’t know”? In an earlier article – Flipping your Mind to change your experiences I wrote “there must be a cause of these ripples” That phrase and other like phrases have a neurological effect on the brain the phrase “I don’t know” also has a neurological effect on the brain.

As you might already be well aware the brain has two major parts the conscious and the subconscious. The proportion between the two is around 90% subconscious and 10% conscious. In this case the size is also an indicator of capacity. The conscious brain is said to be able to process 2-5 chucks of information at any one time. One chunk might be “I want to pick up my wallet” that thought happens in the conscious brain.

To out whit that thought the sub conscious kicks into play. The sub conscious brain is said to be able to process 2 million chunks of information at any one time. To pick up the wallet your sub conscious brain has to communicate to multiple mussels in your shoulder, your arm, your hand and you fingers coordinating all the different mussels at exactly the right time to move your hand to the wallet, telling the fingers to close and then to lift the wallet.

Is this making sense?

A large part of mind development is creating conscious access into the power of sub conscious mind which intern allows you to channel the power of the sub conscious for the benefit of you and others.

When you say:

“I don’t know you are creating a neurological block between the conscious and the sub conscious brain. Would you give this a try with me?
Me: What is your idea life?
You: I don’t know, I’m not sure
Me: If you had an idea of what it might look like, what do you think it could be?

Your answer…

Did you come up with any more thoughts after the second question in comparison to the first question? In most case I’m sure you would have, if you haven’t, ponder the second question for a little longer and allow whatever thoughts to arise and say them out load to yourself even if you think they are silly. Once you say them see how they sit with you.

If you where to imagine a door between the conscious and subconscious mind the phrase “I don’t know” closes the door and the more you say that phrase or like phrases “I don’t understand”, “that’s not possible” it’s like you are dead bolting the door, putting the chain on and barricading the door.

If you do this often enough it’s quite likely that you will eventually barricade the door with that much stuff you will no longer be able to see it and soon enough forget that there is even a door there in the first place. This causes you to become confined to you conscious brain, limiting the possibilities and your potential. After a period of time, different for each person you will become maybe bored, frustrated, lonely and the like, quite possibly all three.

This is something I have experienced in my life. I had shut the door tight! And had almost forgotten it was there. I had found myself going from job to job about every 6 months. I would either get jack of it or they would get jack of me, either way I was changing jobs every six months. After each job I would ask myself, “Why does this keep happening to me?” And then I would say “I don’t know, it’s not fair” then go out and find another job. And the cycle continued to perpetuate its self or in other words go round and round. What changed it for me was when I began to ask and answer my own questions in a different way. “Why does this keep happening to me?” “There must be a reason!” “What might the reason be?” “Well the common factor in all the jobs I have had I me, because the jobs have been across a lot of different industries” “The problem must be in me” “What could it be?” Now I understand with my experience as a life coach the reason it worked.

It opened door way into my sub conscious allowing me to tap into the almost endless potential of my sub conscious, giving me the answers I was looking for, moving me towards the things I’m most passionate about…
